Climate

Malta has a typically Mediterranean climate enjoying dry warm summers and mild winters.  The hottest summer month is August with an average temperature of about 31 degrees Celsius.  February is the coldest month with an average minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius.  The average annual rainfall is 52 centimetres.  It normally rains only between September and March. Malta's topography is characterised by a series of low hills and slopes towards the Northeast and low lying land to the Southeast
