Integrity and Experience

The Finco Group was established in the late 1980’s when Malta launched its Offshore Business Centre. Finco Trust (Nominee) Limited was incorporated on 18 July 1989 as one of the first licensed nominee companies in Malta which was active in the registration and management of companies for non-resident clients.

Finco Trust Services Limited was incorporated on the 12th September 1991 to complement Finco Trust (Nominee) Limited in the provision of incorporation, accounting, tax and secretarial services to corporate and individual clients, both resident and non-resident.

1994 was a major milestone in Malta’s efforts to become an international Financial Services Centre of repute, with the abolition of the offshore regime and the enactment of a suite of legislation which paved the way for the financial services industry to develop in a planned and regulated environment.

Finco Control Co Limited was incorporated on 29 September 1994 and was licensed to act as Trustee. On 13 October 2015 Finco Control Co Limited was merged into Finco Trust Services Limited which took over the license to act as a Trustee in terms of the Trusts and Trustees Act. By virtue of this licence, Finco Trust Services Limited is also authorised to act as a company service provider.

Finco Treasury Management Limited was incorporated on the 9th November 1994 and was licensed in terms of the Investment Services Act initially as a Category 2 Investment Services Provider. Provision of Investment services have since grown to constitute an important pillar of the Group’s activities. Besides servicing an increasing client base, Finco Treasury Management has over the years successfully pursued investor protection initiatives and actions for a large number of clients. Finco Treasury Management Limited currently holds a Class 2 Investment Services licence by the Malta Financial Services Authority and is also licensed under the Financial Institutions Act to provide foreign exchange and payment services by the Malta Financial Services Authority.

Currently, the Finco Group consists of a holding company and two operating subsidiaries, licensed by the MFSA in their respective spheres of activity, namely Finco Trust Services Limited (licensed under the Trust and Trustees Act) and Finco Treasury Management Limited (licensed to provide Investment Services under the Investment Services Act and Forex and Payment Services under the Financial Institutions Act).
